Services
People often ask me what exactly I do. That’s understandable. I do a lot of things. Online marketing is complex, dynamic, full of possibilities and potential. There are so many things to do. A better question is what I can do for you.
I’m a bit like a general contractor of Internet marketing. I have deep expertise in social media and affiliate marketing, and an extensive network of industry contacts. By working with me, you benefit from my know-how, and from the people I know. If I don’t do what you’re looking for, chances are I know someone who does it very well. Let me introduce you to some of my partners.
But back to what I do. My mission is to connect people, ideas, products and services using digital technology in new and inventive ways. All while being the best person I can be. To break it down, this includes:
Strategy
Tell me what you’re trying to accomplish, and I’ll map out a strategy. This can range from something as simple as setting up your brand or company on Twitter and Facebook to developing a multimillion-dollar online marketing program. Most clients fall somewhere in between. I can provide day rate consulting to guide you through the online marketing landscape.
I also do social media training and ideation (that’s Internet technobabble for “I come up with really good ideas”). I’ll also set you up with an execution plan. Depending on the plan, I can either help you myself or find the right person. The solution, depending on the stage you’ve reached, might even be to take the task in-house. It all starts with a conversation.
Events
In 2008 I started The TechSet with a guy named Brian Solis of FutureWorks, Inc. With The TechSet, Brian and I are creating a leading event brand for and by digital influencers in the social media marketplace. We create unique networking experiences around key industry events, giving sponsors genuine, participatory access to the viral “in crowd.”
We’ve run blogger lounges at SXSW, hosted a four-city tour for Microsoft BizSpark, and rocked an amazing party poolside at the Mirage for Blog World Expo. Take a look at our upcoming events. You can also reach out to look into whether there’s a sponsorship or TechSet Influencer Relations campaign that’s right for you and your budget.
I also produce events independently, such as the tour of Silicon Valley I led for nine Luther College students in January 2009. Anything for my alma mater.
Content
Do you have a project or message that needs an online evangelist? People across the blogosphere are listening, and I’ll be happy to preach the good word.
In 2008 I wrote a column for WEtv (Women’s Entertainment Television)’s WE Vote ’08 project, which included a weekly column tied to specific marketing goals. In addition to writing the blog, I developed catchy graphics, and leveraged my network of top female bloggers to drive traffic and attention. A number of influencers promoted the program, and we increased overall site traffic by 400%.
Business Development
I’m in the business of relationships. And no, I’m not a talking about romantic matchmaking here. Rather I leverage my extensive professional network in a variety of ways to take businesses to the next level, whether that means breaking into new markets, launching or re-launching a product or service. Do you need to establish relationships with top NYC agencies? Are you looking to sell to e-commerce merchants? I can develop strategic ways to hit your mark.
I also conduct “Influencer Relations Campaigns” to help businesses reach their goals by finding the right people to work with internally and externally. These people can be A-list bloggers, or executives at other companies that you’re eager to establish relationships with. So - yes, in a way I am a matchmaker.
Affiliate Marketing
In collaboration with my partners at Schaaf Consulting, I help companies run their affiliate programs on networks such as Commission Junction, Linkshare and ShareASale. The talented team at Schaaf can handle all aspects of your affiliate program, and will develop a best-practices game plan based of our combined years in the business. No one has more relationships in the affiliate space than Schaaf. Services include:
- Affiliate program strategy
- Recruitment and activation
- Communications and creative (newsletters, email blasts, etc.)
- Reporting
- Offline promotion
Clients of Schaaf Consulting get the added benefit of being promoted on the Affiliate Karma website and at social media events throughout the year. Plus, like everyone I vouch for, their work ethic and integrity are sterling.
Advertising Opportunities
I’m currently putting the word out to companies that are interested in associating themselves with the many things I do online via high visibility banner ads on my sites. Find out more.
